Put chicken, veg etc. in slow cooker, switched on and went out for 4 hours. No smell of cooking chicken when I came home! Had put the plug for the liquidiser in the socket - Aaaaaahhhhhh. Ah well, it will be fine for tomorrow.

Maggiebee - fae Dundee? What type of bear was it that attacked a wee boy at Camperdown Park years ago? I am sure that the bear was called Jeremy, But was he a Polar bear or a Brown bear?

Little brother and his family were in the park when I spoke to him on the phone. Not the bit where you have to pay to get in to see the animals :-)

Wolf63, it was Jeremy the Sugar Puffs bear (brown). Lived in terrible conditions and the wee lad had climbed in to the enclosure. Huge enclosure now with running water and a pool. Two brown bears who seem to live a much happier life. Took the grandchildren to see them a few weeks ago - grandaughter loved the bears but was terrified of the peacocks roaming around!

Sugar Puffs rings a bell. I agree with your granddaughter - Peacocks are huge and scary. Last time that I went to Auchingarrich we were mugged by geese.

I've done that Maggie. I only did it once though. I was so disappointed when I got home from work and it wasn't cooking. I have never done it since, though, I have to turn my current slow cooker on for twenty minutes before putting anything in it.
