I am going to make some apple chutney and one of the ingredients (which I do not have and have never used) is paprika. Can anyone tell me what this is and what sort of flavour it has? Can I substitute anything else?
Thanks everyone. Sorry I didn't answer yesterday. My computer is on the blink and wouldn't let me do anything. Anyway, I have bought some paprika, so here goes and hopefully it will turn out all right.
Paprika is one of my favourite spices....and I wouldn't describe it as "hot" at all.....it's more "warm and comforting". Now you have it, try a beef goulash when the cold weather comes along...absolute favourite.
