arnold for govenor?

is the election campaign serious? is he a strong runner? wot do the people of california think of him? is there a chance he could be govenor? Does anyone know the answers to these questions? and if possible, does anyone know if people are taking him as a joke, and making a mockery of the american government...if it culd actually be taken seriously!

He's being taken very seriously...watching Jay Leno the other night he had a poll that said 54% of voters would give the terminator their vote....heck they voted reagan as president who was an actor......He's seen as quite a strong good candidate by most californians after a recent telly debate where he stood up well to some intense pressure amongst 5 other candidates. Don't be suprised if he wins.

He's stitched himself up very recently however by admitting to having been a serial groper. Never mind the spliffs after pumping iron, they'll forgive that, but sexually assaulting loads of women they're finding a bit harder to get over. His points are dropping now.

There's been talk of him running for some time. It probably depends on whether the vote to recall Gray Davis (the present Governor) succeeds - which is probable, but not certain. The other factor is whether the Republicans unite behind him - again probable, but not certain. Politically, Arnie is very left wing for a Republican (surprisingly enough, Mr "Uzi 9mm" actually supports limited gun control) so he's not very popular with the State party, even if he gives them the best chance of winning. He could never copy Reagan and run for President though, as to do that, you have to be born in the USA (unless they alter the Constitution).

Mr Potts is slightly wrong here...the two votes on the re-call issue and the vote for the new governor are actually taking place at the same time.....when the voters enter the booth they will be given two ballots...one with a simple yes or no to re-elect Gray Davis and the second (sublime to ridiculous here) with a choice of wait for it...125 candidates ranging from Arnie to Gary Coleman (Different Strokes) to a Porn Star...now why can't we have politicians like that eh? The verdict of the second ballot will only be counted if the first ballot goes against the current incumbent governor.

I have no personal opinion of Arnie good or bad. It is however a sad reflection on the American way of life, I think its not so much a question of could he possibly become President, more one of when will he become President.
