Pregnancy And Permanent Residency In Norway?
Hey, I'm a filipina whos currently working as an au pair in Norway. I have a boyfriend and we recently found out that I'm pregnant with his child. We're wondering if there's a possibility I can gain permanent residency in Norway on the basis of this, but we'd like to get unequivocal confirmation first.
1. Can I get permanent residency in Norway on the basis that I have a Norwegian boyfriend and that I am pregnant with his child?
2. Will I receive financial aid? If so, how much and for how long?

fascinating. Thank you for posting this evm.
No one so far has noticed ..... Norway is not the EU
from wiki; "Norway maintains close ties with the European Union and its member countries (despite rejecting full EU membership in two referenda)"
and so we dont have to worry about EU law as it doesnt apply in N.
1. Can I get permanent residency in Norway on the basis that I have a Norwegian boyfriend and that I am pregnant with his child?
This depends on Norwegian local law and not on anything else and so..... you better ask your boyfriend or his parents. I would have thought - never having gone near Norwegian law that the answer is yes - you will certainly be able to claim money off him for the child.
2. will I receive financial aid ? yup certainly from him for a start.
Presumably he is gonna say yes this is my child ( Steve Jobs wouldnt by the way )
If you are employed and paying Norwegian taxes, yes you would be entitled as a result of the taxes you pay from your employment.
You are legally employed - arent you ?
Clearly you need to ask more locally - ability to speak Ny norsk or Bokmal would be an advantage.
fascinated to see you are asking for unequivocal confirmation for local Norwegian social law from an English site.
Hope this helps...
Nice to see 'Filipina' used grammatically correctly
