It's an interesting one Bazile. In my ma's generation, dyeing your hair was considered on a par with selling sex. Piercing ears ditto.
Cosmetic surgery used to be scary, complex and hideously expensive - it's getting more or less better and comparatively safe and more affordable.
Given that we believe the future will get ever better and brighter, then it should become routine and a matter of easy personal choice 'at some future point'.
Which takes the matter back to its 'moral' dimension. If the operation is not complex and is within your budget, and if it will please you, why should anyone else have a say in the matter?
But then there is the increasing pernicious brain-whisper of the media, dictating what beauty is and constantly gently pointing out your imperfections, which is a toxic situation that shouldn't be encouraged.
