5 Answers
Hi there I went to see my GP today and told him about the pain when swallowing and he has told me to take 40mg Esomeprazole for 2 weeks only and then go back to Lansoprazole twice a day which does not seem to be working. If it is not any better after 2 weeks of Esomeprazole I have to have a gastroscopy. I had one 4 years ago and it was ok I was very sedated I had sedation before the sedation cant remember a think about it. But I was wondering if anyone has heard of this drug esomeprazole before. Is it quite powerful

Yes, I have. Much the same strength and action as Lansoprazole.......no big deal.
Why do we need doctors, pharmacists and other medical ancillaries when we have Google, links, websites? We could then afford the NHS.
I agree with the post of Pete 65.

I had severe pain swallowing and bad indigestion, which stopped me from eating anything at all. Omeprazole didn't really work. I changed my diet. I gave up gluten and dairy and ate no crap, no caffeine or alcohol. Turns out I had a hiatus hernia so needed to take omeprazole and elevate the head of my bed. Years later I just avoid food that I know causes pain- ie- which my body doesn't like- ie- which is not very good for me. I eat crap= I pay the price.
