Yesterday afternoon I made a planned visit to the hospital. On duty was a consultant called Steve. He had 5 underlings with him, all called James. Also on duty was a male nurse called James...and the ward clerk was also called James.
Are James taking over the NHS?

And didn't they do a TV documentary about a St James' hospital in Newcastle?
Google tells me it was in Leeds.

If Steve was from glasgae he'd have been called jimmy. As in, see you, jimmy.
he'd have called everyone else jimmy, sandy. ;)

Next time I am there I am going to check to make sure the cleaner hasn't changed her name to James

I think you'll find there was only one person on duty and you were drugged into hallucinating the others in the latest NHS cost cutting efforts..... ☺

I'm not sure this informality sits well on doctors. You couldn't really imagine Sir Samuel Sqad, FRCS, being too happy about being called Sammy by one and all.
