When the police arrived (within 10 minutes) one of them said "Oh dear they've made a bit of a mess".
The boyfriend replied "Actually I think they've tidied up a bit"

>In a normal domestic situation, how does anyone fill 3 hours a day cleaning?
I live on my own, I have no children, I don't sleep well so I am up at stupid o'clock with no little ones to run after. As I said, it depends what needs doing. I hoover and polish every day. I clean my bathrooms every day, my kitchen has to be scrubbed within an inch of it's life every day and I mop the floors every day so really that would probably take up an hour-1 1/2hrs. Once every 2 weeks (on top of that) I wash the skirting boards and wash the windows so that takes up more time. I change my bed 1-2 times a week and I have ironing on top of that. I could easily fill 2 hours cleaning, especially if I get started on my kitchen cupboards! I enjoy it.

I clean at least five hours a day, but polishing would only be 1 hour per week. I iron on average 10 - 15 hours a week including approx 35 shirts ( I'm the mum of 4 boys and then there's hubby. All wear a clean shirt every day, 2 oldest boys need shirts for weekend jobs and also going out) but I honestly love it!
Probably less than an hour a day. I do all the non-noisy bits before poing towork. OH does all the obvious things such as washing up, hoovering and polishing. I do the chores he wouldn't think about, such as cleaning the fridge/cooker etc inside and out. He also has an aversion to cleaning the toilet, so that's one of my jobs. When mother or mother-in-law are due to visit, I'll blast everything - walls, doorframes, plug sockets, behind the radiators, under the bed....!
I probably spend about an 1hour a day on housework some days more. Kitchen and bathrooms, I like to be kept sparkling. I hate either of these rooms to look dirty and messy. There are 5 of us living in a small house and it needs to be kept in order and tidy as it would be a nightmare to find anything.
Not very long as I only do it at the weekend so maybe 2 - 3 hours. Too tired to do it Mon - Fri evenings after work. As I live on my own with Little Tiggs there is no one else to help me do it so if it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done.
I've been toying with the idea of getting a cleaner in once a week.

to the people who clean 2-5 hours a day - however do you find the time, and why is it that important? I couldn't possibly iron for even half an hour a day (and my menfolk do their own, they have to learn). I work full time so I can't even imagine spending several hours every single day doing housework, or why anyone would. Life's too short.
How do yu spend 3 hours per day o houswrk. Easy I would think. 2 loads of washing and drying or hanging out takes about an hour in total filling, carrying, transferring, ironing, folding and putting away. An hour on floors and surfaces ( we have long haired dogs and cats so have to hoover and mop everyday or it gets like a muddy fur fest) and then there is an hour on taking out trash cleaning windows, deep cleaning one area. 3 hours is nothing at all.
