I missed my dental appointment today. It was just a check up, and somehow I got it into my head that it was tomorrow. God knows why because I know my dentist only works on a Tuesday and a Thursday.

I feel so stupid. And really guilty.

I'm going to have to phone the surgery tomorrow and grovel.

I don't mind paying, I just don't want him to be annoyed with me. (Yes, I know how pathetic I am.)

I'm a nervous patient and he is very good with me. He has gone into semi-retirement and only sees a select few patients, so I am very pleased I'm still on his books.

I actually feel sick with guilt.
Go on, watch the clip......I dare you
Question Author
Lordy Mrs O, do you hate me??

;-)
Nooooooo - it will make you really grateful for the lovely dentist you have!
Question Author
I'm scared to look at the clip! I think my guilt is going to keep me awake tonight as it is!
Q What succeeds?
A A budgie who missed his dental appointment.
ha i am like you 2sp - i had a hospital appointment i was late for today because i had forgotten. I was 25 minutes later and they turned me away (despite the fact they have previously kept me waiting for 2 hours over my appointment time)
Question Author
Glad I'm not alone, bednobs.

Does that mean that the hospital were actually running appointments on time today? Has the Press been alerted?

Update - Went to the surgery today to apologise in person. They were lovely about it, refused to let me pay for the missed appointment and gave me a new one for a fortnight's time.

It really was very nice of them to not charge me.
I'd never call my dentist a darling...I'm terrified of all dentists although I do go for my 6 monthly check-ups. The injection in the mouth is the worst bit.
And why do they always ask you questions when your mouth's full and you can't answer...
Question Author
I think they get some sort of kick out of it, cupes!

I hate getting injections and hum random tunes when he's doing it. My dentist does laugh at me. Meanie.
Good news, planks (saw that you liked that in another post). My dentist is a darling too and so good looking
So you and psybbo both lie back and have fantasies about your dentist and it takes your mind off it and it don't hurt??
I feel so sorry for dentists. They are all on the breadline. One missed appointment and they don't eat!
This why, after being trained at the cost of the taxpayer they go private. It is the only way they can survive. You should be thoroughly ashamed of yourself!
A bit like solicitors actually.
