The phone rang earlier, I tried to answer it but it wouldn't register, kept ringing. Eventually it stopped, I now cannot get a ring tone on that handset. Can hear a very faint beeping. There are two other handsets on the system one is working ok the other one also has the same problem. Has anyone any ideas please?

it's probably the ferry company asking you to cough up for the corkage on the wine you smuggled abroad.

Battery running out in the individual handsets?
I agree, the batteries are probably at the end of their lives.

If they are all the same age don't try working out if one handset is still OK, just replace all the batteries.

(make sure you buy rechargable ones!)
Yep, probably batteries. That baffled me when I came out of hospital and my phone wouldn't work, but the batteries had just given up the ghost. Replaced them , no problem.
That does catch people out - because the thing is plugged into the wall at the main station, they forget that each handset has batteries.
...and make sure you buy rechargeable batteries, not normal ones, or you'll soon be forking out for a new phone.
Sorry, Hopkirk, missed your post otherwise I would not have bothered.

Sorry was away catching up on postings. One of the defunct handsets I had been using ok a few minutes before but I will check batteries.

Took the batteries out and put them back again and it worked, all ok now, thanks folks!
