Hi, my three month old girlie always wants food, I am feeding her every four hours roughly but every time I open the fridge or cupboard she is there! I have read on the web that kittens do eat a lot as they are growing but when will this slow down? My last cat was a big boy and I don't want this new kitty to get overweight. At what age does the feeding start slowing down, and is she just trying it on? I give her half to three quarters a sachet of Felix Kitten pouch, four hours later fresh cooked chicken or pork ( I know) then alternate every four hours roughly. And a few Hills kitten biscuits..... When this first box of Felix is finished I will be buying a better quality of pouch, but is it OK to give every other meal, fresh meat ? 12 years since my last kitten, so I just dont remember. !

Not being a "cat" person I wont attempt to answer your question but to just ask why you feel you need to cook fresh meat for your kitten, cats and dogs of any age eat fresh raw meat, that's the way they were designed!

We gave ours a small meal of "sloppy kitten stuff" morning and evening the rest of the time they had a bowl of kitten kibble to visit if they were hungry and plenty of liquids.
I'm told the kibble is healthiest for them, better for their teeth, gums and digestive system.

Sqad I have read that small kittens need food every few hours as they are growing. Perhaps someone could confirm this for me ?
