I Live In A Very Nice Cul-De-Sac

We have a piece of grass, trees and flowers. That is the upside. The downside is it is on the edge of a not very nice council estate. From my kitchen window I have just seen two girls drinking out of cans. When they had finished they both threw the cans on to the grass which then bounced in to the flowers. Had Mic been his self he would have picked them up, followed the girls and then thrown them into their garden. As you know he's not, so I picked them up and put them in my recycling bin. This is now why my house is now worth about 20p. Rant over.

Beat this for littering then ...... we were going to pick some friends up from East Midlands airport and stopped and parked at the nearby service area to await their call that they were through the baggage hall. I popped in to M&S to buy flowers and when I got back my husband was looking most concerned - he had been keeping his eye on a lady who was half hanging out of a car, sitting in her seat but then bending down to the pavement just near her car door. As I got in the car he was going to investigate fearing she was ill. She then quickly raced off in her car leaving behind an enormous pile of rubbish you ever did see, she had been emptying all the glove box, seat pockets and back seat etc - there were carrier bags, half eaten lunches and piles of screwed up paperwork - a huge mound of it which all started to blow away everywhere. We were disgusted, what a pity we didn't realise what she was up to and get her registration number.

Slightly off topic, just a thought. If we didn't have the French term cul-de-sac, what would we say in English?

I agree with most that's been said here,there are litterers in all walks of life. Even my local council contributes to it. There is an area where a mobile catering vehicle parks and the owner used to put out two small dustbins beside the van.Recently they stopped doing it and I discovered the council had told them to remove them as they were a hazard and people might trip over them.
