Let's lighten the threads, who else listens to this programme on Saturday morning? He used to do 'Saturday Club' back in the 60s and he's STILL going well at 86.
Today he played a rarely heard track from Long John Baldry, 'Too Late Now' I haven't heard that for years and one of my claims to fame is that I once sat at the feet of Long John on the stage in a club in Bradford.
Thank you for that info,Ann. Got radio Gold on now on Sky - makes me want to quickstep round the room but it's off to bed now -dancing days are over lolThanks again and guid nicht-.btw ann,I'm so glad you're going to carry on with the birthday greetings.
These old charts are great- I can still remember every song listed form the top 40 in the 70s.
And most of those from the late 60s even though I never listened to music then- eg 1967
I always listened to Saturday Club. I loved that. I still listen occasionally to Sounds of the 60 but, unfortunately, I rarely get the chance these days. My claim to fame was that my cousin knew Peter Noone (aka Herman, sans Hermits!)
