Let's lighten the threads, who else listens to this programme on Saturday morning? He used to do 'Saturday Club' back in the 60s and he's STILL going well at 86.

Today he played a rarely heard track from Long John Baldry, 'Too Late Now' I haven't heard that for years and one of my claims to fame is that I once sat at the feet of Long John on the stage in a club in Bradford.

Fess up, come on!

T Rex's Hot Love was number one at the time, Tony, but it could have been Deep Purple or Rolling Stones

These old charts are great- I can still remember every song listed form the top 40 in the 70s.
And most of those from the late 60s even though I never listened to music then- eg 1967

Doh.
I was going to say this may be more your era, tony, but I think I remember all these too

it's an awful programme and I don't care if he is 86
I was a bit young, ff. But I do remember most of those.
I always listened to Saturday Club. I loved that. I still listen occasionally to Sounds of the 60 but, unfortunately, I rarely get the chance these days. My claim to fame was that my cousin knew Peter Noone (aka Herman, sans Hermits!)
