If you live in the Midlands mark this date down on your calendar - NEXT THURSDAY 25th. The Vulcan is doing a "Cold War Tour" around various RAF and ex RAF bases so you may get a good view :) Can't wait!!

With the heat from those burners - yes haha.
It was at Southport Airshow today, sadly it won't be there tomorrow(I have seen it before, luckily) when I'm there but I'll get to see the 2 Lancaster's as recompense!

Chill - We were lucky enough to see all three (Vera, Thumper and XH558) near Newark on 21 August - a wonderful sight!
Bet it was awesome Ann.
I've not been to an airshow for a couple of years and thought the chance to see the Lancaster's had gone so I can't wait.

Don't forget your camera then Chill - hope the sky is going to be clear. We sat in a gateway to a cornfield and had a panoramic view as it was flat countryside.
Forecast is good for tomorrow - clear day apparently.
Both batteries of the video camera are fully charged!

..... and no camera shake Chill, as it goes right overhead ;)
Well, what a fantastic day! As it turned out the Vulcan had NOT been there the day before as planned and subsequently was last in the show at Southport.
What a finale to a brilliant day. The Lancasters were always going to be special but I don't think anyone knew just how poignant it would be, the last time ever that 2 would be seen in formation.
They were simply magnificent and a true sight to behold.
It isn't often we get a chance to see history being made but today was very, very special.
What a day to remember, Chill!...☺
It certainly was gness.
It's always a cliche but there are days the memory of which you'll take to your grave and thus it was.
The 2 Lancs, followed immediately by the Eurofighter, first time I'd ever seen a Catalina too and topped off with the Vulcan.
They were all simply majestic.
Well I won the village quiz...with a friend...but I would have changed places with you today!
Thank you, Slack...☺...xx
Well done gness! Can't say I'd have swapped today for anything. I used to spend many a night on the Mohne Dam imagining the Lancasters as they flew down the reservoir to their target.
Today I got at least an inkling of what it must have been like.
