United Nations Representative On Climate Change
I see from the news that Mr. DiCaprio has been appointed as a United Nations representative on climate change.
The hiatus on global warming aside; can we now assume that as representative in this role, he will cease jetting around the world, driving around in gas-guzzling cars and partaking in other movie-star activities that have a preponderance to release gases claimed to accelerate global warming?

It’s quite true you cannot film via conference calls but if Mr DiCaprio is so engaged in the fight against climate change perhaps he should reconsider his career in a business where so much travel is necessary. Having said that, I doubt a change of job alone willi reduce his “carbon footprint” substantially as he, like many of us, seems to like jetting about for fun. Here’s a glimpse at his 2013 summer itinerary:
He kicked things off back in May with the NYC premiere of The Great Gatsby and later travelled to Cannes to party at nightclubs and hang out with pal Cameron Diaz in Monaco. Once he wrapped up things on the French Riviera, Leo bopped between Venice, where he attended the Venice Biennale, and Paris, where he watched the French Open and visited Versailles. Now, Leo and his lady friend are vacationing in Ibiza with a group of friends, including Naomi Campbell's ex-boyfriend Vladislav Doronin.
In addition to this he has booked a seat on Beardie’s “Virgin Galactica” spaceflight. This project - should it ever get off the ground (Geddit!) - was due to launch by the end of 2013 but is considerably unadjacent to its take off date at present. Nonetheless, I doubt it is an entirely “carbon neutral” affair.
He owns at least three homes - in Manhattan, Los Angeles and Palm Springs so I doubt he travels between them by push bike though he could use one of his three electric/hybrid cars which as everybody knows involve no emissions whatsoever (at least none that can be seen at the point of use). He has also purchased an island in Belize (rowing boat?)
Maybe he's had a change of heart since his recent appointment to the UN, but I doubt it. So please Mr DiCaprio, don’t make me laugh or my sides will split. (Then I'll have to be carted off to hospital in a gas-guzzling ambulance).

Funnily enough Emma Thompson was wittering about climate change on the radio, yesterday.
Having just returned from a beano in the arctic (or Antarctic, who knows? who cares) she compared the glaciers to the water-lines on the houses 'where is it, where is it, oh yes, Venice'
Before promoting her latest play, in,,,,,,,,,,,,,,New York!
Lol, you've got to laugh at these people, haven't you?
