Dress code - QE2
We have a short cruise booked on the QE2, dining in the Princess Grill. Both 'formal' and 'informal' evenings suggest that dinner jackets are required, however someone told us that the dress code is not so strict, insomuch that dark lounge suits are acceptable. Enough waffle - the question is, has anyone direct experience of what 'goes' when it comes to dining in the Princess Grill of the QE2? Likewise ladies?
Many thanks to anyone who can help.

When we went on a little cruise around the Med (not QE2) my hubbie took a tuxedo, and everyone on our dining table wore one (just the gents I hasten to add). He said if he had just worn a normal suit he would have felt the odd one out. Yes some men wear just a suit but it's nice to dress up, especially on QE2, you can hire a suit or buy one - cheapie at Matalan or 100 in M&S. If you are going to go on cruises regularly (and once you've been, you will go again) it's worth buying one. Wifie can just wear that little black dress, a bit of sparkle goes a long way. Enjoy !
