Hi everyone, how reliable are "asian versions" of DVDs. They have lots on eBay and say that the only difference is that they have some asian writing on the box and that the subtitles are in asian too although they can be turned off. Are the sound and picture ok or are they distorted? Just wondering if anyone had any experience of them as they seem such a good deal but I can't quite decide if they're a con or not!

Thanks

more than likely they'll be pirates.
pirates, I would have thought. But I actually bought a pirate DVD of Star Wars in Kuala Lumpur once, for about 1, just for fun (hope I didn't bring George Lucas to his knees with my wicked ways) and was surprised to find it was pretty much perfect - not filmed through a smoke haze from the back row of the stalls or anything. But goodness knows how you'd be sure when buying on eBay.
