I heard this morning that Jason Orange is leaving Take That,. For some people that will mean the end of the world! Who would you like to see as a replacement? Olly Murrs was one such suggestion.

I remember interviewing Take That when they were still at the 'store-opening' phase of their career - HMV in Hanley to be precise.

At that time, they had enjoyed two hit singles with two cover songs, and I asked Jason and Howard how they were going to go on, as they couldn't build a career out of covers?

Pointing to a plump blond lad who didn't look old eough to shave, they confidently advised me that 'their Gary' was writing some songs, and they'd be fine.

I thought at the time, oh dear, that's the end of (Take) that then ...
