Dog Vocabulary.

Mr T and I have just been discussing the wealth of words that little Tilly understands. She understands/responds to:- Tilly!, sit, stay, stand, leave, come, go, here, down, lie, over, ok, chewy, biscuit, no, go get, no more, good girl and CATS!
I'm sure there are lots more.
Amazing isn't it?
Any other commands your dog knows?

'Say hallo' to shake hands.
'Is there badness?' usually sends a guilty culprit skulking if one has done something they shouldn't.
'Stand up' and 'Teeth' I'm currently teaching my show dogs as well but early days yet with those.
We do hand signals as well- handy when your dog is over the other side of a road and needs to be kept safe from traffic although we also always sit at kerbs so when they get to a road in theory they just sit there.
I love dogs, usually so much nicer than people :)

I had a dog Labby that used to understand up to 200 words
i just used to speak English to it. - Go into work or stay here ?
if he went to the door - work
and he just sat there - stay here
Two onlookers asked each other - when is Peter coming back, and the dog went to the door and howled. We realised that it knew everyone's names including of course its own

I've seen that as possible too Peter, a guy who works for the family has a little scruffy wiry terrier cross called Cassie and he doesn't give her commands he speaks to her as if she is a person, very softly and politely. He'll say for example if she's on the front seat of the car ''Excuse me Cassie could you get in the back please, sShae wants to sit in the front'and she just hops over- quite amazing.
