Why does he read all questions out twice?
What does it matter what order the answers are in?
Who’s bothered what they are going spend their winnings on if they won?
How many times does he need to say that they only need one pointless answer to win?
Just get on with it!!
I like this programme, but I do get fed up with him reading the questions out twice, especially when they are long winded, but I don't mind the rest of it! But then again, I quite fancy him ..
It is all very repetitive and irritating. The most irritating part for me is when Alexander reads out the clues with letters missing ......i, blank, i, blank, a, blank, i, blank, g!
Pointless can be entertaining at times but it's also one of those quiz shows that is easily twice as long as it needs to be for the material asked. Never mind, switch over and enjoy The Chase instead.
I like Pointless but Sky+ and whiz through the long winded bits, Chase not too bad except for adverts all these shows are long drawn out Deal or No Deal being one of the worst for long windedness and Who's Doing The Dishes runs for about 12mins with repetition before it begins the current episode.
Dave .. apart from padding the show out (as has been mentioned), it gives us poor numptys standing at the podium time to think!! Unless you have done it, you don't realise how quick time goes. On my show, Laura who went first on 'words ending ...ank', was actually given a good 30 seconds of 'silent' thinking time which was edited out. Go and have a go and you'll see what I mean!
I agree with Caribeing. I record all quiz shows and skip lots. Why oh why does Alexander Armstrong keep on saying in the final that only a pointless answer will do - we know !!!
Both Eggheads and Two Tribes are just like Pointless in terms of exactly repeated chunks of verbiage, and Countdown isn't much better. Victoria Coren on Only Connect is the only quiz show presenter who manages to keep varying it.
Another thing that annoys me is when AA sys what would you do if you won the money and.it might only be £500 . Hardly a kings ransom. I once did a live TV quiz programme for channel 5 and won £450 and the quiz person said what did you plan to do with the money. I said I planned to go round the world........in a rowing boat
