Now I have my own kids we all eat at the table and it's a pleasure. We talk, laugh and behave like human beings. On the whole I would recommend it.
We usually eat at the kitchen table when we are all together. Its a nice big old table and I feel more comfortable there than eating in the dining room. I'm afraid it's laps (yes I'm a slob) most evenings because strange working hours mean we can rarely eat together and eating all by myself at the table is miserable.
When our girls were living at home, we always sat at the dining table & chatted about the day whilst we ate. I don't think it's posh, but just nice to be together as a family. We still do the same when we have visitors.
If it's just the two of us, we sometimes eat at the table, or I eat from a tray on my lap on the sofa (another slob gessoo). Mr Smudge is a bit more reserved & puts his tray on one of the nest of tables & eats from there!
Ha, ha, we usually only use cutlery when we have visitors too Gessoo! I'm not too keen on stting at the table when there's just the two of us - I feel like we're a couple of book ends sitting end to end!
Thank you for your good wishes. It's been a very difficult time for me just lately, but I'm gradually getting there.
I'm glad your back is improving & that you're managing to get out & about. Walking is so good for body & mind. Have a nice relaxing weekend too.
Sorry Jennifer - hope you don't mind!
