I excelled myself today.

As I was getting the kids into the car to go to the dentist this afternoon, I delicately placed my purse and mobile phone on the roof of the car...

Luckily, our road is about half a mile long before you hit the public road. And we have a speed bump and some delightful potholes.

My MIL found said purse and phone about halfway along it as she was coming home.

What a numpty. (Me, not my MIL.)

I did it when I was working with my filofax that had my life in it. I think most people do it at some time.

I once saw a lady leave a tube of toothpaste on her roof.

It fell off, and when another car drove over it there was an almighty squirt of toothpaste down the road.
