Just been diagnosed with this.
It's driving me round the bend. Covered from mid abdomen to my ears.
On Dermacool X2 daily, Hydrocortisone 2.5% X 2 daily, and Alimemazine at night.
Finding it very difficult not to scratch.
Anything else I can do to help myself ?

I guess Alimemazine is an anti -histamine? It may be worth checking if the dose can be increased. And use the hydrocortisone more often.

Yes, antihistamine, also used as a premed for kiddies.
Embarrassing bodies down under, yesterday had a patient scratching herself to bleed. The dermatologist prescribed oil spread on infected area. I cant find the link but try a patch test with olive oil.
I found Eurax lotion helped a bit when I had it. An oatmeal bath too, just shoved a load of oats in the leg of an old pair of tights and stuck it under the running tap then in the water itself.

I'm sure I had a thread about it, will see if I can find it unless it comes up in one of your related posts below.
Ah, found it but it wasn't the one I was thinking of - http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Question1251082.html

I seem to have a thing for itchy rashes!

Are you finding yourself scratching without realising at night? If so you could try some thin cool cotton gloves, make sure the skin doesn't break and risk getting an infection.

Hope it settles for you soon.

Thank you Eve.
It's a hideous rash, I have no idea what causes it, nor can I find anything on Google.
I have no idea what caused mine though I do get rashes a fair bit, often with no obvious cause or not sure what they are, eg chickenpox or shingles.

It's a big rash though isn't it, mine was all over my thighs. I think it was just a one of those things thing.

Just joked with Sis, if it goes any higher, (ear level now) I will have to hire a burkah. (No offence to anyone).
If the itching doesn't improve over the weekend, then on Monday book yourself into a Tanning Salon which should improve the situation OR if the sun is out, then have a session sunbathing (in the nude if possible.)
Question Author
Really Squad? Wow!
(Best not do the nude thing in the garden, folks will think it's a beached whale.) Thank you.

Groin to ears now, back, underarms, and now it's creeping down my arms, 4 weeks in now.
Neck subsiding a little.
Thoroughly brassed off.
