They want debit card details as they don't accept credit cards. Is it OK to send these details to a company I don't know?
I have my doubts. That's why I'm asking

What company is it?
I've done it (not often), and to reputable-sounding companies, and no problems. But I'm still reluctant to do it. If they offer an alternative (credit card) I'll go for that.
i wouldn't write my details on paper to be sent to a company. Ask them to pay over the phone

Lancashire Sports Repairs. They're likely kosher but I was just wondering is it wise to be posting off such details.

Are you going to post your boots to them? Seems awfully expensive.

I've just noticed, they accept cheques. Problem solved.

Wolf, they're a fairly expensive boot. I had a pair of the same make repaired in a local shoemakers a while back and they ruined them. I think they use special lasts to work on.
sandy, you can rest easy. Some years ago, I sent a jacket to this firm to have a press fastener replaced. They did a good job, and they even said, before the did the repair, that they could not quite match the original, and would a near match be ok? I was well pleased with the service, and at that time they accepted cheques, so that's how I paid.
Ah - I love a happy ending to a problem.

I am looking for someone to take the gentleman in my avatar for a medical appointment on Friday - any volunteers?

I've just noticed, from the firm's website, that they accept cheques. Would a cheque payment be more acceptable to you?
At least here in the U.S., we never use our bank debit card for other than ATM withdrawals since, if the card is hacked (as a growing number of large businesses have had happen), the thief has access to ones total bank account, whereas we keep a credit card with a low balance approval ($1,000) so if it is hacked we would, at the worst, be out whatever is left on it not, potentially our entire bank account ...
