I am going to Australia in December for 5 weeks and have just had a quote for Travel Insurance which was very reasonable and I am going to buy, however, when I came to the Payment Section it advises Cover does not begin until the day of my trip,Cancellation Cover is included, so how does that work in the event I need to Cancel? Any help appreciated,Many Thanks.

At a guess, you're actually paying a single price for two separate policies, with the cancellation insurance coming into effect immediately but with the actual trip insurance only coming into effect on the date that you've told the insurer you'll be travelling on.

However without being able to read the actual document, that can be no more than a guess. Sorry!

Thanks Chris.
Travel insurance is strictly construed ( one letter wrong and you're out )
and so.....
instead of asking Chris - [ mwah mwah chris ! morning ! ]

you should be ringing up the insurers and asking them and making sure you take notes !

( questions before signing MAY be taken into account: questions after are never taken into account )
