Morning all.Been let out early for good behaviour. Not bad considering this time last week I was waiting to meet the head carver. Op at miday.Recovery at 4pm.2days in HDU then released from General surgical ward yesterday at 2.30pm. My nurse collected me and we celebrated my escape down the local with a couple of pints of Doombar.Out of practise a bit with the crossword.I am finding today's a stinker so danny and Margo et al will have to show some understanding for an old recovering invalid. I thank you all so very much for your kind thoughts, prayers and wishes and am pleased with the kind welcome you gave Mrs retro a.k.a mem sahib and nurse piggy when she first introduced herself to you all and gave you my progress reports. She never lets me down and I promise I will be a good out patient for her as long as she buys her round. Now back to that pesky crossword and back into practise. Thank you all once again. XX :)

Strange how being back in one's own bed can seem to diminish the pain without analgesics etc. I even slept on my tummy (wound site) whereas in hospital I found great pain in moving from back to left or right side. Nurse retro is pleased with my progress and dresses the wounds and injects my daily fragmin. I am not giving her a hard time so she is going to treat herself to a swim today as realises I am not being too dependent. (worried about the hourly rate at end of week :) )
