Has anyone got married outside St. Paul's Chapel, Lindos, Rhodes
I would like to know if anyone out there has got married at (outside) St. Paul's Chapel, Lindos, Rhodes. My son and his fiancee are in the early stages of planning a wedding there for spring 2007, I would be interested to read any comments regarding a wedding there, and any advice from couples who have tied the knot there recently.

Its the most wonderful place to get married, the cermony is rather short and the Mayor of Lindos marries the couples. The vows are in Greek and very roughly translated by the Mayor. The Chapel is then 'opened' after the cermony so you can light a candle or make a donation. There is a very steep incline down to the Chapel, so wear sensible shoes and change into your heels once down there! There is an opportunity for the bride and groom to have a donkey back from the Chapel through the town. The couple at the wedding a few years ago had this and it was really sweet. Going through the town after the wedding all the Greeks come out their shops and restaurants and clap and cheer, they love a good wedding. I would highly recommend it. I just cant wait for May! A lovely location, the Lindos people are friendly and I would say Lindos is one of the best of the Greek Islands.
