Can anyone please explain what the term "tight drawing" actually means? I keep reading this description with Renoir and other Impressionist painters.

When an artist executes a tight drawing, every line is carefully placed and controlled (in terms of thickness, pressure, etc) to accurately represent the subject (within the chosen style).
Some artists try to produce a tight drawing straight away but, for many others, a tight drawing is a final drawing after a series of refinements. (It's sometimes compared to an architectural blueprint).
