er, slight flaw to your question. Jackie was sitting beside him. So the answer, it would have been pointless.

Also, what many people fail to realise is that high velocity, small calibre rounds deviate in all directions when they make contact with solid objects like bone etc.

Don't want to sound gory but when I was in the Army I was in hospital with a bloke who'd been shot by a 5.56 mm round from an Armalite rifle. The entry wound was in his right wrist. The exit wound was below his right eye. Doctors reckoned the round travelled up his arm, hit his elbow, shoulder, collar bone then mandible before it exited him.

This the Zapruder tape (stills) frame by frame, the shot that hit JFK in the right temple is at frame 313.

One of the doctors that tended to him at Parkland hospital Dr. McClelland told the truth about where the head wound was in 1993 and he stated quite categorically that the bullet came from the front and to JFK's right.

He kept quiet for 30 years because he had been told to by members of the "secret service"
If you haven't already, you should watch the Oliver Stone film JFK and read the Don DeLillo novel Libra, both excellent accounts (part-fact, part-fiction) of the JFK assassination.
There is no conspiracy.
The BBC did a study a couple of years ago using all the latest pathology techniques and debunked all the myths surrounding the so called 'conspiracy'.
Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone - end of story!
What his motivations were we will never know but he,and he alone, did it.

hmm none of you have really answered my question re. blood splatters/spray marks ! ive seen programmes where an occumplice to murder has had blood sprayed all over them and forensics have prooved which way they were looking, body position etc. so if jackie o had loads of blood on say one particular side it would proove which way the bullet came from
If that were true Garybaldy how were two people 2000 miles away two weeks before the assassination taped by the FBI discussing how JFK would be killed?
Mrs Stanleyman was a forensic biologist for twenty years and is an expert on blood spray. She says that the first blow from a blunt instrument often does not produce blood so no spray. An entry wound from a gun shot would also not produce blood and the exit wound position can be the result of deflection so does not indicate the direction. Any blood would be wind blown in a moving open car and JK was cradling JFK and would have smeared the blood. So I'm afraid blood spray patterns are only any good in ideal conditions.
