Sqad - Update On Frozen Shoulder
6 Answers
After going to the GP, being referred for an ultrasound which I had in the summer, then being referred for physio of which I had three sessions over the summer and being told by the physio that I have a frozen shoulder and hydrodilation will probably be the way to go I found myself sitting in front of an osteo guy (at last) this afternoon. He said that hydrodilation will be no good to me now as it`s too late and the frozen shoulder will probably get better on it`s own. I resisted the urge to say "well, if they had done something sooner if would have been good for me wouldn`t it, pal") He wants an MRI scan on both shoulders because the other one`s playing up now so I`m not any further forward. He was in a bit of a rush and didn`t have time for the superlatives but he wants to see if there is impingement which would mean keyhole surgery and flippin ages off work. He then dashed out of the room before me but I managed to collar him to help me on with my coat because I have a bad shoulder. Then I got the wrong train home, had to get a bus home and now another bus to get my car back in the pissing rain. Apart from that, all`s good.

You talk of "an osteo guy".......is he an Orthopaedic surgeon?
I think that an MRI is essential as the diagnosis seems still to be in doubt.
is the shoulder causing your pain (frozen shoulder) or is the cervical spine causing your pain? That is the question.
keep me informed eh!

Well, I have the wine (even though there was only about 1.5" left in the bottle) Yes, he`s an orthopaedic consultant (a Mr not a Dr) and I think he is pretty good (you can just tell). I just wish that they had given me a steroid jab to put me out of my misery as far as pain is concerned and and MRI so that I didn`t have to waste all of this time.
Looks like he was at one time in your old stomping ground, Sqad. http:// www.bmi healthc are.co. uk/cons ultant/ consult antdeta ils?p_n ame=Mar k-Proct or& p_id=49 937
