Relevant Evidence? Or Nothing To Worry About
3 Answers
Back in the early 80's when my brother was about 10 or 11, the mother of a local child complained to the police about what she called "inappropriate sexual behavior" with her 8 year old son. He got a telling off and was told not to do it again. With hindsight, it was a total over reaction on the mother's part, but it was all forgotten about very quickly. I supposed we'd call it "Show me your's and I'll show you mine"
My brother, who is a teacher, is now being questioned by the police in connection with an alleged sexual assualt, which supposedly happened 3 years ago, on a former pupil. It's totally false on many levels which I can't go into, but he is worried that if this other information still exists somewhere on a police computer, would it go against him.
Any advise will be much apprecaited.
Thanks

We've been advised that it should have no bearing on the investigation. It doesn't prove anything. It was 30 years ago and was dealt with at the time. He has been a teacher for 15 years and has had many CRB's and DBS checks. If it was a problem he wouldn't be a teacher now. Whether it stays that way is another issue for a later date.
