I saw 4 kids scooping up the leaves and throwing them at each other. They were laughing and squealing and seemingly having a good time. I watched them for a while and decided the eldest was about 5 or 6, two more were younger and then a toddler age about 18 months or maybe 2. It dawned on me that I couldn't see an adult with them. I went out, had a look round and no adult in sight.
I watched those kids like a hawk. What sort of parent does this?

Jeza.......yes we did, but we did live in a Cul de Sac for many years.

Once took the kids to Butlins Skegness and "lost " the 7 year old. We found him at the top of the "Big Wheel", shaking the basket as i shouted up "Keep still".

Main roads and traffic have always been and still are, a problem.
Has society changes and there are now more threats to children or does it only seem that way?
When we were kids we'd play out most of the day and half of the night.
Like I said, Sandy, it's traffic. When I was kid there was about 3 cars in our street. Now you'd find it hard to find a parking space.
I would probably do as you did Jeza, I worry when I see young children on their own.
you did the right thing jeza. omo. thank goodness for caring people like you.

Hi, Jeza...hope you're well....

Piper.....considering how far apart you and I live....you made an assumption about me.......☺
Probably the same kind of parents who live 2 doors up from me who let their 6 kids play in the street, bounce up and down on my shed roof (did point out to them it's made of corrugated iron and quite rusty) and then graffiti my back gate (with their own names). Thankfully they all finally got taken into care.
A ' it won't happen to me ' parent Jeza I bet. And yet they are the ones who holler loudest when things go wrong. You are right to be concerned.
Totally agree with you Jeza
I agree with you Jeza, they're far too young to be out unsupervised, especially the toddler.

What not look after their offspring properly?

I can think of two in particular but apparently you are not allowed to slate them on AB.
I can't help but wonder how many on this thread who are berating the parents of these kids berated ........we'll you know who.
I too would be looking out for their safety and have done with kiddies playing outside my home. Schools in our area have been sending out letters to parents warning of Eastern Europeans attempting to kidnap small children. Never let your guard down where children are involved, whatever age.

Piper H sometimes it's good to make assumptions where children are involved, it could save their life.

What? Seriously?
Yes very seriously.
And they stipulated 'Eastern Europeans ' did they?

Nice to think I'm not on my own with my concerns. I still don't know where the kids came from of went to.
They weren't Eastern Europeans were they?
