We're thinking of flying to Charlotte with us air. Has anyone flown with them recently? How would you rate them?

As you probably know, they recently emerged from bankruptcy, and have accumulated a hefty backlog of operating cash and have recently merged with another U.S. Carrier, America West. They have downsized somewhat and the prospects of future success appear to be fairly good. Their service has always been reasonably good and the company morale is much better now... that always helps service. If you could avoid their operation at Philadelphia, you'd be better off. Seems thay just can't get their act together to produce consistent on-time operations at their home base...

they overbooked over Christmas, which could have been disastrous. Not my favourite american airline. it is not surprising they've just come out of bankruptcy - a very cheap feeling service.

I flew with them about a year ago, to Philly and onto Charlotte, never had a problem, decent leg room and service was excellent, even when we lost our tickets, they pulled out all the stops and helped us all the way, compared to the British arilines I rate them a hell of a lot better.
