Not in the UK (this time) but should 'art' pamphlets be allowed in jail?
This guy has got 50 years (ok the right-on liberals would never allow a sentence in this country like that so perhaps the question is moot) so is it right to deprive him of a small luxury?
If it keeps them quite it could be useful, but I don't see it as have b all to do with any human rights. How can anyone claim there is a right to have porn ?
last time I was in jail there were plenty of girlie mags knocking around. Werent allowed to stick any pictures from them on the walls though. (would probably offend the prison chaplins...)
Under the rules, the prisoner is entitled to materials which are art-based, and that would appear to indicate that he should be eintitled to the material he wants, for the reason he has given.
The length of his sentence, and / or the the crime he has been sentenced for have no bearing on his request, or its denial.
