My daughter is studying for a degree and receives Disability Living Allowance at the highest rate for both care and mobility. She was on Income Support before starting the degree but had to come off it when she received her student loan. Does anyone know if she can claim Income Support during the summer holidays as she is unable to work? She lives at home so doesnt pay rent but I cant afford to keep her for the whole of the holidays as I have 2 other children and Im a single parent. Her student loan just covers her expenses during the term time, but she wont have anything left to live on during the holidays. Any advice would be appreciated.

Have a look here and here. It looks as though the student loan is just to cover term time and she can claim income support during the holidays, but you're probably going to have to contact the job centre for a definitive answer.
