I have been a buyer from ebay for over 10 years. (tried to find out exactly how long but couldn't find it) I have 100% positive feedback. I have also never given any negatives but will say when I have been unhappy with what
I 've bought I have left no feed back at all.
Last month I bought vacuum cleaner bags. They arrived after 2 weeks and were the wrong bags. I emailed the seller on several occasions but got no reply. I contacted ebay and they said they would sort it and let me know. Today I got an email saying no action to be taken, case closed. I accept I've only lost £3 but I thought we as buyers were protected. Yes I used paypal. I thought of telling ebay to shove their site but decided that was maybe cutting off my own nose.
I left negative feedback for the seller, ebay have removed it.
Did you threaten to leave negative feedback if he didn't sort it out?
He can have it removed for "feedback extortion" if you did.
Can you open a not as described case in Paypal?
I realise it can't be resolved here. I was having a bit of a rant. I can live with losing £3, what I don't like about this is ebay are backing a power seller who has loads of negatives. I thought they looked after the buyer, apparently not they get much more money from his selling than they get through my buying.
Ebay and Paypal are linked why would they back me. I really can't be done with the hassle for £3. I wish I hadn't complained to ebay in the first place.
Feedback has to be balanced out.
I have customers saying our feedback is terrible because they see 14 negs this month.
They don't seem to notice the 4300 positives.
Frog, all I did was complain to seller about wrong bags. After 3 weeks and loads of emails to which the seller did not reply I contacted ebay. They were the one's who adviced me to leave negative feed back. I did this 2 weeks ago. Today ebay removed it.
You should have contacted the seller via eBay NOT by email and then if you got no response raised a 'not as described' with eBay resolution centre. If you had done that ( as per eBay rules) you would have had the money refunded. You went outside eBay so they have refused to do anything and removed the negative feedback ( also as per eBay rules)
You can still make a complaint direct to PayPal NOT eBay and tell them you got the wrong item and the seller would not change it. The PayPal money back guarantee covers anything bought via PayPal not just eBay items.
In future remember, in case of problems communicate ONLY via eBay never by other means or the money back guarantee will not apply.
^^ It is worth remembering eBay and PayPal are going to be 2 separate companies soon , the split has already been announced. As said PayPal's refund policy is separate from eBay so you could get a refund via PayPal.
