Stephen King actually wrote the first episode of this second series. And i recall reading a preview prior to the first series beginning and being warned that it did not adhere to the book. King is my fav author - i am actually about a 3rd of the way through the book for the 2nd reading - but a lot of his work does not transfer to the American 'mini-series' style of drama. I will watch to the end of this 2nd series but if they bring out a 3rd, i'll give up the ghost.
I have just watched the 2 series back to back, as when I've started something I like to see it through to the end. It certainly has a lot of flaws but it did keep me interested. I haven't yet read the book, although I have read almost all King's work I missed this one.
Probably best this way round so I can't moan that they ruined the book!
So there is a 3rd series! That's the trouble with the Yanks; they get a good idea and then pump it until it runs dry. May as well quit watching now because i can see it turning into another 'Lost':-(
I watched all five series of 'Lost' the biggest cop-out ending Ever! It's bad enough when a series gets zapped after leaving on a cliff hanger but that took the proverbial.
As for Under the Dome, I do like Stephen Kings works but gave up half way through series one.
And what happened to 'The Event'? That series was never finished. Makes you wonder if it's at all worthwhile getting 'into' any of these American series.
// Jack, this is the second series!! Shows how good it is if you can follow it. I am waiting to see how they end it, cant be anything like the book. //
Am I the only person left who likes a film to have a proper beginning & a middle & an ending without zooming back & forth in time ?
I agree read the book and enjoyed it BUT this series is so off the books pages!! I can hardly belleive it is the same story.?? I watch it but not really sure why,? poor Stephen King what can he make of it.! Terrible.
