Another was when one of my old units did a tour of the Falkland Islands, when it came to HQ's attention that the locals were being referred to as 'Benny's'(the Crossroads character) so an order was made that the practice was to stop.
They subsequently became known as 'Stills', as in 'Still a Benny'!

I worked with someone who served in the Falklands and he also told the Benny tale. He also said that penguins used to watch helicopters fly overhead and fell over backwards ! Not sure about that one, although he said that they were so tame, you could pick one up and put it under your arm.
