The "AB apology is well recognised as a criticism and possibly an insult followed by a "sugary" penultimate or final sentence to smooth over the incident making the culprit appear...." a gentleman".
It is easy to spot.
\\\\advise why it is a waste of time, \\\
Because the donor doesn't believe it and neither does the recipient who will never forget the incident despite the apology and achieves......nothing.
\\and by whom is it rated at all, over or otherwise?\\\
No idea what you mean in this phrase, but please don't explain.

sandyRoe - "In parliament speakers sometimes say, 'With respect', when they actually mean I think you're talking through your a***.
Could 'With respect', become common usage for combative ABers?"
'With respect' belongs in the same catagory as 'I'm not being funny but ...' and 'Don't take this the wrong way but ...'
They all flag the precise opposite of what they imply.
Less respect can also be flagged with the phrase 'With the greatest of respect ...'.
