Have had a gift card from a well known shop about 3-4 years - at the time I was given it, it was to cover like a credit note from an item that I had returned.
At the time the assistant told me the card expiration date was indefinite - so having decided to buy a coat online with it today - it has been declined through expiry.
I contacted said shop on the phone and they said there was nothing they could do. It was worth £40. Is this correct.
It is correct that most cards expire, usually after around 1-2 years.
As you had already enquired as to when it did expire and had been misinformed it might be worth trying again with the store
this happened to me with boots gift vouchers, I wrote to head office/public relations enclosed the vouchers as they were null and voidanyway they sent me new ones valid for 12 months which we promptly spent in case it happened again ! the shopnnot do this but powers above can.Donf forget to send recorded delivery the they cannot say they have not recieved.
