Something that has been bothering me since the start of the series but wonder if it is just me.............The BBC have gone on about the achievement of having a prime-time TV show fronted by two women and that they want to lead the way in equality.

So..............how come every week Tess and Claudia are escorted/helped down the stairs by male dancers - surely that undermines the whole equality situation??

They're undercover security and have been since the notorious 'Sequin Snatcher' threat a few years ago which resulted in cracked plaster on Ms Daly's face.
They're presented as window dressing so as not to scare the audience.

I know what you mean - I don't usually think that deeply into things and I'm not a raving feminist but it just occurred to me that's all! Was interested to hear what other people think!

they wear really high shoes so its for safety i think ,week one tess lost a shoe .

OK, I like to see them led down the stairs by dishy males. Part of the reason I enjoy the show, all the fit male dancers !

As it's a dancing show, and most dances are traditionally performed by a male and a female couple, I think it's acceptable for Tess and Claudia to be escorted by two male dancers.

It's not as if the two men are helping to host the show in any way.

Tess was always escorted down the stairs by Brucie so I don't really see the difference.

Regarding the comment that the BBC achievement of having a prime time TV show fronted by two women, are they forgetting about the Great British Bake-Off being fronted by Mel and Sue Perkins (I'm not attempting Mel's surname!) or may be they don't count as they are not in 4" heels? I think that it would be much better without Tess Daly altogether, some of her jokes don't seem to go down well with the audience.
