I bought the smallest slither of cheese yesterday from Whole Foods in Cheltenham but because I bought other things too I only noticed when I got home they had charged me over £3 for it!! Lovely store but how on earth can folks afford to shop there? It was Isle of Mull Cheddar by the way.
Wholefoods is not a cheap place for food but it is very good.
They are also very good at clearly marking the price of the produce, so you should have known the £/kg, or at least seen the price on the scales, or asked......
Wholefoods is really expensive. I only shop there in the US when I want a couple of things for my room - bit of milk, yoghurt for breakfast, something for lunch from the deli and that $30 + gone. They play on the whole organic, eco "thing".
Gosh, so many replies, you are right I should have checked the price. Serves me right but I have to say it was lovely, I suppose we all deserve a little treat now and then.
