1. BEETLES LOT spell the single word name of a luxury Italian railway train. Can anyone unravel the anagram for the answer please?

2. In 1911, a 19th-20th century British crime and thriller writer published a novel about a British colonial officer serving in West Africa. In the 1930's the story was turned into a British cinema film. Appearing as an extra in this film was a man who, during the 1960's became, inreality, the President of an African country. Which African country? Any help with the crime writer or film of President would be appreciated.
