Cleaning Paper For Laser Printer...

I'm getting toner spots and faint lines of toner on the paper from my Samsung CLP 320 Series laser printer and I'm thinking about trying a pack of cleaning paper which you feed through the printer and it (allegedly) picks up stray bits of toner and cleans the printer's inner workings.

I've read some reviews - a few folk have had success but some say they are a waste of money. I've asked Samsung for advice (I contacted them regarding a leaking toner cartridge which has basically bu 88ered my printer up) but no advice was forthcoming - they just said they couldn't help me because the toner cartridge was out of warranty.

Has anyone tried these cleaning sheets? Did they work for you?

Does your printer not have a cleaning cycle? My HP does.

Thanks TWR, that's a good idea, it would also probably benefit from a service. It is in a dusty room (my very old cockatiel lives in the same room and he's extremely dusty)....I guess dust will get into the workings, even though he's not close to the printer.

Thanks too, bhg. No, there's no cleaning cycle that I can find. The manual's instructions are: "With a dry, lint-free cloth, wipe away any dust and spilled toner from the toner cartridges area and their cavities".

I've tried that but there's absolutely no difference. Think I'm gonna have to take it to a printer doctor.

Wow...I rang my local Cartridge World and they have offered to clean my printer for free. Very good of them seeing that I didn't buy their cartridges.
