I can not recall saying " Ban all dogs" the likes of dogs that are in the news day after day mauling children / the owners /the public & all other dogs that are Innocent, them are the one's that want putting down or Muzzled when out.

They brought out a law to jail the irresponsible owner, but if this is the same one I read about, the owner got her sentence suspended - what sort of deterrent is that ?

I believe that is the report TWR refers to. The dog was 9 years and the owner a 49 year old woman.

Of course, you never know why or when a dog might attack.

I know some breeds are bred for their fierce nature, but I had a friend who had a GSD who was 10+ years old, and had never shown any sign of aggression, all of a sudden she went for someone, completely unprovoked.

Within the hour she was in the vets, and was no longer.

chaptazbru2, she was in perfectly good health and had shown no signs of illness or distress, in fact, she was returning from her morning constitutional with her master when she just went berserk.

But that's why I think Cobwebs at 10+ years old something was very wrong with her. If she was my dog I would have asked the vet to give her a full examination rather than end her life !
