Am half way thro' the clues with a very one-sided look to the grid, some of the un-clued lights seem obvious but don't seem to have any correlation to them, probably me being my usual thick self............! Anyway, a bit of N & C wouldn't go amiss especially with the enigma.

Oh, please Novalis, don't encourage Jim, I seem to be surrounded by mathematicians/physicists and other scientific geeky persons who look at me as tho' I'm 5 years old when I seriously do not comprehend why X is X. I do take great heart in the fact that few of them can either spell, or put a sentence together in reasonable English, but it doesn't help in giving one hope that one might just finish the EV by the closing date, nothing to mull over at breakfast, luncheon or supper. Think I am going to have to take Chris hostage until he bans number puzzles!

I've seen crosswords as a chance to broaden my horizons. Especially useful given the amount of poetry that's often used as source material, most of which I've never come across before. Mathsy-themed ones shouldn't be scary, since for the most part they have to steer clear of the hardcore maths. (There are some exceptions, but they're few and far between). Rest assured I won't ask you to prove Fermat's Last Theorem or something!
