Had a lovely afternoon doing a village quiz walk yesterday and...my friend and I were joint winners.....which pleased me no end.....not just because we won but.......
One of the early clues was impossible to find....now I know I'm competitive and like to win so before the finish we went back to the beginning and there as clear as anything was the missing clue....it really was unmissable!
After a natter with a few others who hadn't been able to find the clue either it became clear that one of the early teams to set off had hidden/disguised it.....then returned to put it back......
Isn't it a shame that folk will cheat to win.....but they didn't...not even the raffle.....I won that too...☺
Quite a winning week for me....a lottery ticket seems a good idea....x
Cheating at this level - pub/village quiz type thing, shows a meanness of spirit.
Cheating big time, as in Gambling, fake qualifications etc. may be seen as admirable but not if someone else gets hurt along the way and of course if you get caught you aren't just drummed out of the WI.
I was always brought up to earn anything I did on my own merit and although still very competitive, cheating would leave a taint to anything I won by it.
