Ebola - no definitely
TB actually no - but there is good evidence it doesnt matter
Hepatitis - no but it is unlikely to be spread by sitting next to each other
Falling up steps - no data on this
and what would a doctors letter say - this man will not fall up steps ?
this mans WILL fall up steps....
I hesitate to say the question is unclear.....
however the general rule about flying ill is - dont
the airlines main concern is whether you are gonna nneed treatment the other end and whether they will have to bear the risk ( of paying the bill )

As you have already discussed wanting to extend your visit with your Travel Agent, should your Insurance Company make any enquiries with them they may decline to cover you due to the 'suspicion' of Fraud......
So, you'll have lost your flight home, paid a Thai doctor needlessly and have to stump up the going rate for journey back, in any case.

I am amazed that you are actually asking us to approve your plan to cancel your flight and make a fraudulent claim on your insurance dieseldick. When you buy a ticket some tickets let you make changes and some dont. Yours was a dont and these are the cheaper tickets. If you want to change the ticket pay the difference and dont involve us, your doctor and the insurance company. Insurance fraud is a criminal offence.

I suppose it could work in theory but the airline wouldn`t cancel your flight and then re book you. They would cancel your flight (or more likely, you would no-show) and you would have to stump up the price of a ticket home which won`t be cheap and then reclaim the cost from your insurance company minus any excess that you have on your policy. The insurance company would probably want to see the doctor`s note and if they suspect that it is fraudulent, they would refuse to pay out so that is the risk you would be taking.
