The key difference is the consistency of the paint. Dulux Retail paints are ready for use straight from the can. Many professional decorators, however, like to thin their paint before use and so Dulux Trade paints have a slightly different formulation. However, both Dulux Trade and Retail paints are manufactured to the same high specification.

We had he exterior of our house painted for the first time in the 17yrs since we moved in, it had been the same colour for years previous to us buying the house....it was Dulux paint (tins left in shed plus neighbourly tit-tat).The difference between Dulux and any other paint doesn't only lie in the price.
We opted for Dulux as we actually know it will last and see us through the seasons, for years. We chose a neutral main colour.
You really only get what you pay for....plus you get 3 testers for the price of 2 (£2) and they arrive the next day...my house was like a paintbox by time we decided on shades and colours for the ingoes etc...good fun !
