There were originally two organisations, GEM (Guild of Experienced Motorists) and the Company of Veteran Drivers. The latter required a certain number of trouble-free years driving as a qualification for membership, and the number of years was displayed in the centre of the V-shaped badge. The GEM was for less experienced drivers. I think they have now been amalgamated into one organisation, called GEM. Further information 0500 295472.

Grunty's answer is a good one.

The badge you have on your car does not belong to you as you stated unless you are 82 years old or older!

How old are you?

You should not ask a lady her age....shame on you, and she didn't say it was on a car. She may be a collector of badges.;-)

I knew I would get in trouble with that question!

How long have you had your dirty habit, and what is it?

I have had various Dirty Habit's for the last 40 years or more. I could not possibly tell you what they are, but most can be done with one hand !
